Coach Alex Puchales has dedicated his life to study and coach the game of golf. Alex coached at the International Junior Golf Academy (IJGA) where he had the opportunity to coach and mentor golfers from 23 different countries. While at the IJGA, Coach Alex was able to collaborate with some of the best golf coaches in the industry including the likes of Hank Haney and Kevin Smeltz. As a senior coach at the IJGA, Coach Alex took his coaching expertise internationally to India, Ecuador, Mexico, and Puerto Rico.
Through his experiences, Coach Alex has developed a holistic approach to coaching. His methodology, practice routines, and positive coaching practices have enabled his players to achieve their full potential. Over the years, Coach Alex has attended over 100 elite junior golf tournaments with his students to analyze course management and to create a plan for each tournament. His players have won over fifteen junior tournaments, won four State Amateur Championships, numerous collegiate tournaments, and have competed in professional events.
Coach Alex lives and coaches with one motto in mind: "A goal without a plan is nothing but a dream". Alex starts with his student's goals and generates a plan that utilizes process-oriented practices to enable the individual to achieve said goals.
Coach Alex has played an integral role in the success of the Richmond Hill High School Golf Team. Under Coach Alex's coaching, the Richmond Hill High School Golf Team made it to the High School State Championship back-to-back years. (2018-2019)
Coach Alex is a graduate of the Professional Golfers Career College (PGCC) where he graduated with honors, and was the recipient of both the Gerald E. Hall Sportsmanship Award, and the Most Positive Attitude Award.
